Johannesburg, 1965. Three women--a ballroom dance champion, her niece (a young librarian concealing a dark political secret), and a fiery domestic servant--have locked themselves in a small flat out of fear. They'll struggle deep into the night to define their relationship with each other and the country of their birth, each performing, as the dawn approaches, small acts of bravery, defiance, cowardice, hope, and prejudice, proving that nothing is ever simply black and white.
